Sante Fe Grand Canyon
A friend from Poland is coming and wants to take a road trip to the Grand Canyon, Sante Fe, and other spots in the West for about 8-14 days. I am supposed to plan it and was wondering if anyone knew a site where there is a preplanned agenda that I could just follow or a bus tour company that does tours like this. It will be in July/August . Thanks.

Can you give us some more info - where are you starting and ending your trip?
How active are you? Do you want outdoor activities, museums, art galleries, how much driving do you want to do, how long do you want to spend in each place. Which cities interest you? Are you ok with driving on mountain roads that can be narrow, twisty and steep. Do you want to go to National Parks besides Grand Canyon. This is a BIG area, with a varied array of opportunities, but we need some input before we can offer ideas. Deb |
If anyone can help, Deb can. Her recommendations have been extremely helpful to us in planning our trip to Arizona. Good luck and thanks, Deb!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's an 14d itin suggestion for you that takes a logical route East to West.
Fly into ABQ (or now Santa Fe from DFW on AA) Santa Fe 3-4 nights day trips Bandolier, Tent Rocks, Taos/Taos Pueblo, Mesa Verde NP (2 nights incl travel time) Grand Canyon 2 nights, depending on how active they are. If they just want to look over the rim and say they were there then 1 night can be enough. Bryce NP - 1-2 nights Zion NP 2 nights Vegas - 2 nights Fly out of Vegas There are infinite variations depending on interest level. This is a NP intensive route. For my trip planning I bought a paper map of NM/CO/AZ/UT an laid it out on a table, then marked all the places I might want to visit. A logical plan will start to come into view when you start to look at distances. A couple of things you'll need to consider. How fit/active is this person? A lot of the places I list you can access if you aren't highly mobile, but you can do far, far more (& stay longer) if you're active & fit. Weather: It'll be hot, very hot. As in very, very hot. Plus it's monsoon season in AZ. |
Thank you both. Deb, I think that I most want to see Santa Fe and Marzena wants to see Vegas and the Grand Canyon. Someone recommended Sedona. I hate to drive but I expect it will be a lot of driving and am prepared and comfortable on Mountain roads.. We are both active and like walks so maybe we can do some sunrise activities.I know it will be very hot. We both like galleries and museums. I would like to stay places near downtowns so we don't need to drive while in town.
