Any suggestioinis for Thanksgiving dinner in either Santa Rosa or Healdsburg areas?
Family of 4 ( 2 - 21+ daughters and wife). Enjoy good food and $$$ not a huge issue.
Also where to stay with daughter's beloved Pug?

Don't know if they are open on Thanksgiving, but we had an excellent dinner two weeks ago at Zin in Healdsburg. Also closer to Santa Rosa is the Farmhouse Inn near Forrestville. A bit further afield is Bistro des Copains in Occidental, an excellent French bistro. Good wine lists at all of the above

Two of the most fabulous Thanksgiving feasts in the county
are at Madronna Manor in Healdsburg and John Ash & Co
at the Vintners inn in Santa Rosa.

If you want to do something a bit different and truly fun

It should be stellar that time of year. I was going to suggest you also check out Cyrus.

Have at least one meal @ Zazu while in those parts.

Cyrus for a Thanksgiving dinner? If you are looking for a "traditional" Thanksgiving dinner, I can't imagine what Cyrus would offer. Turkey & mashed potatoes with stuffing??? It's the best restaurant I've dined at in the last 15 years in the Bay Area, but their "formula" is multi course, small servings, complicated preparations, unusual offerings.

If you re looking for a non-traditional Thanksgiving menu - then Cyrus would be fine - but very expensive.

For Thanksgiving, I would dine at Madrona Manor - a large Queen Anne Victorian house.

I'm with Stu on Cyrus, no way I'd choose if for a traditional T' giv dinner. Per the open table list I linked, it's not open on T'giv anyway.

Yes, Yes ! do have a meal at Zazu as PamSF so wisely suggests!

I did not understand the OP wanted a classic Thanksgiving Day dinner. The OP said they liked good food and $$$ was not a huge issue. The issue is moot now given that Cyrus is closed on that day.

IF the OP likes good food and $$$ is not that great an issue, I continue to recommend you look into Cyrus for your stay in the area.

Zazu is a roadhouse and the folks are GREAT locals who contribute a great deal to their community. It's casual, has great food and easily accessed from either Santa Rosa or Healdsburg. The "kids" might really like it.

IMO, a "Thanksgiving Dinner" is turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, stuffing, etc. If he had asked for a place to dine on Thanksgiving day, then I MAY have intrepreted that to mean a non-Turkey/mashed potatoes based dinner was an option. I hate Turkey, so our thanksgiving dinners are something non-Turkey.

Turkey or non-Turkey, most holiday meals in the Bay Area are usually expensive (assuming the OP does not want to eat at a Denny's type place).

We've dined at most of the nicer restaurants in Healdsburg. For a Thanksgiving Dinner where I want some "old time" charm, I can't think of a better place than Madrona Manor.

Hopefullly R5 will come back to this thread as she is the Sonoma county maeven. You will be in prime zinfandel and pinot noir territory. Check out wwww.wineroad.com

And I like Preston because it has a great feel, picnic tables and organic wines.
