Santa Monica Swap Meet
Is there a swap meet at the Santa Monica Airport on Saturdays? And, if so from what time to what time?
Thanks! Shadow |
The "LA Times" has posted a flea market at the SM Airport on the fourth SUNDAY of every month (I think they said that the hours are 9 to 3, but don't quote me). I've never heard of it.
The most famous ones in LA County are the one in the parking lot of the Rose Bowl and the "Hollywood" Swap Meet (corner of Melrose and Fairfax)-- I think both are every Sunday. The Orange County Fairground hosts a swap meet every Sunday as well. |
rjw_lgb_ca: thanks you-just what I needed to know!

I've been told by friends that it's a good swap meet if you're looking for antiques.
|
It's a good fun antique market but the prices are nearly retail and it's not that large a market.
The Rose Bowl is the best antique market - it's hugh - (2nd Sun. of the month). Amazing bargains! Long Beach (3rd Sun of the month) is the next best and that's getting pretty huge. |
The swap meet in Long Beach (locals will call it the "Veterans Stadium" flea market) is great. I've been to it a few times, and if you know what you're looking for and how to haggle, there are real finds among the tchotchkes and outright junk. Veronica, thanks for setting me straight on the Rose Bowl swap meet-- I thought it was every Sunday, but you're right.
The Hollywood swap meet is a glorified yard sale, so one can safely skip that one. |
