SANTA MONICA HOTELS
I'm going to spend a night in Santa monica this weekend --the Loew's is full, as is the California--the carmel and the miramar have rooms--any other thoughts, other than shutters, which seems pretty expensive
|
We had a good stay at the Mirimar last Feb. It's a good walk (down a cliff) to the beach, but that might not matter that much this time of year. It's close to the 3rd Street Promenade if you like that kind of thing - we found it way too touristy.

Hi,
I found this website very useful:

http://pen.ci.santa-monica.ca.us/cm/...accommodation/
This past weekend I stayed at the Travelodge on Ocean Ave. It's "just" a Travelodge, nothing fancy, but I got an internet rate of $99 and it's right across the street from the entrance to the Santa Monica Pier, two blocks from the Third Street Promenade. I thought it was a great location for the money.

The newly remodeled Hotel Oceana is a nice place. It's in a great location on the shorteline without the trashy element of the boardwalk too close by.

Joe Bob says check it out.

http://www.HotelOceana.com
