Santa Fe Opera Dress Code?

One of our local art critics wrote recently that Santa Fe Opera-goers "dress to the nines." We plan to attend this summer - should we wear a tux/dinner jacket, suit and tie, or just "summer casual?"

If you are attending opening night, I would say dress up (if you want to); otherwise wear whatever you want. Hardly anybody was dressed up this year. For that matter, the kookier the outfit, the better!

In New Mexico-- anything goes! Do wear some sort of jacket/wrap though. It can get quite chilly.

Summer casual will be fine, though if you want to wear black tie and tails with blue jeans, cowboy boots, and your best bolo tie, that's OK too. :-)

I went a few years ago and I remember few, if any people who were "dressed to the nines." Just go causal.

Many thanks to all of the above. We'll just go casual, thank you very much!
