Santa Fe
Have not been to Santa Fe in 25 years, girls weekend for birthdays. What is your favorite bar, restaurant, and with the temps in the high sixties and mid forties....what kid of jacket do you recommend. We will have Thursday night, Friday, Saturday and leave on Sunday, what is a must do for mid 50 gals. Many thanks

Do not miss La Choza. Easy, fun, relaxed. Do miss Cafe Pasquale, everyone recommends it, but found it over-rated, over-priced, over-hyped...over-attitude!
Re: temps. Hi 60's is top/tee plus light sweater. 40's is fur coat (just joking) but it cooled downed very quickly at dusk. |
When exactly is this trip? Temps are starting to drop fast.
Here is a thread I did earlier this year: http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...rip-report.cfm For activities, what do you like to do? Check out the DESTINATIONS link at top of page and then find Santa Fe, lots of good ideas there. Some similar threads: http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...or-museums.cfm http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...n-santa-fe.cfm http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...new-mexico.cfm links http://www.santafe.org/ http://www.museumhill.org/ And for a girls getaway: tenthousandwaves.com Type in Santa Fe in the search, tons of stuff to read. The Plaza Cafe and Museum Hill Cafe are both great. Wonderful food and service.

Try the caramel pecan apple pie at the Plaza Cafe. A slice is big enough for two to share and it's to die for.

We always enjoy La Boca for tapas and wine
http://www.labocasf.com/ Maybe go to 10,000 Waves for a private hot tub--the waterfall tub is nice. http://www.tenthousandwaves.com/ |
Bookmarking. :)

Check out the bar with live music at El Farol, a couple miles up Canyon Rd. Live music every night. You all will fit right in w/the crowd, same ages, etc. Always good live music there, very fun place for an evening, esp. on Thurs, Fri, Sat nights.
I love the Folk Art museum (I am a 50 something gal). Do you all like good resale shopping for jewelry and clothes, purses, etc? I love Double Take in Santa Fe and stop by therte on every trip. Very cool assortment of merchandise, with a higher end shop in back. I've gotten some great jewelry and accessories and clothes in that back part. Be sure to walk all the way through the "western" part of the store to get to that separate section. The front section of the store where you enter has very cool home goods (lots of Mexico and good southwest items), shoes, clothes, jewelry also. Great prices for the quality. The upstairs part is very cool also. |
