Santa Barbara California- 1 day
My husband and I will be visiting Santa Barbara on Friday. We already went to the mission but we have not been to the town. Any suggestions of things to see and do? We are a couple in our late 20's; we enjoy history, architecture and art in moderation. We also love to walk and hike. We did some wineries in the area last summer so we are not as interested in that.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |
The SB County Courthouse is an architectural work of beauty.
Have lunch at the Wine Cask.. Enjoy just walking around the town. www.santabarbaracourthouse.org www.winecask.com |
The courthouse, indeed, is not to me missed. The view from the top is spectacular! Enjoy...

State Street has interesting architecture and I think art galleries also. There are some historic inns also (Orchid Inn, Cheshire Cat are two of them). You can also check out the Santa Barbara Museum of Art (I haven't been there yet).

Don't miss the Mission! It is gorgeous! If you're interested in art and architecture, you'll especially like it.
http://www.sbmission.org/home.html Other than that, if you have one day I'd say just wander around State Street, have some leisurely meals, walk down to the Wharf. I second (third?) the recommendation of the Courthouse, as well. There are a bunch of art galleries on and around State St. There's also the Santa Barbara Museum of Art at 1130 State St., which is worth popping into. |
Thanks for the advice!
We will definitley hit the Courthouse and take a stroll down State Street. |
