Any recommendations on romantic, gulf-front restaurants in Sanibel? Thanks!!

Stay away from the Timbers restaurant. Got a terrible case of food poisoning after eating there.

It's not on the water, but it is romantic and the food is incredible, The Riviera.

Not on the water but Sanibel Steakhouse wonderful food and service. Dolce Vita, also not on water, but very good.

Go to the Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa they have a very nice small dinner cruise. Very Romantic!

The Mad Hatter restaurant on Captiva has great food and views to the beach and sunset.<BR>

Mad Hatter-great view of the ocean-plasticky tables-average food<BR>Timbers-forget it<BR>Sanibel Steak House-well its certianly nothing resembling Smith and Wolenskys!!<BR>Riviera-Probably the best choice here!!<BR>Most of the restaurants are nothing much to write home about-somebody mentioned Dolce Vita-an unbelievably poor attempt at an Italian resturant-I went there the first week it opend and could have read the newspaper cover to cover befor I got my cocktail.
