Sanibel gulf front hotel recommendation

Sanibel gulf front hotel recommendation for first time visit in January. Want to see and hear the waves, search for seashells, and be close to good restaurants. Welcome any activity or restaurant suggestions. Need good place for ice cream or gelato. We mostly want to relax and enjoy some warm weather in the winter. Thanks!

Have you ever BEEN ON Sanibel? Are you aware of the layout in terms of the locations of the restaurants and other places? Will you have a car at your disposal?

There are numerous threads about this very subject but am sure someone will comment. If you do have a car I strongly suggest you take a drive up to Captiva at some point since the whole vibe there is somewhat different than on Sanibel.

Good restaurants? Depending on your idea of :"ood" you might be disappointed.

Take a lok at Casa Ybel and Sanibel Arms. But you might be late for this winter...

I agree that Captiva is lovely.
