Sanibel condo help

My husband and I are looking to go to Sanibel for first time in early November. We were in our mid-50s and want to stay mid-island so we can bike to both ends. We want something ocean front with a nice lanai, nice view and nice pool. I've been looking at some nice units at Pointe Santo, but it looks like it might be a large complex. We tend to like smaller and quieter places, but do want something nicely appointed. Anyone have thoughts on what other complex or condo I should look at?

Everything in Sanibel is low key, laid back, and nicely appointed... This is where the money goes on vacation so standards are high... There are height limits on buildings to maintain the nature of the islands...

There are very few family overrun resorts... They are usually in nearby ft Myers...

We usually stay with family, so I won't try to give you specific properties... Good luck

Casa Ybel

I would agree, somewhat, with Casa Ybel but only because of it's more central location (vs. something like the Tortuga Beach Club). However, I disagree a bit with the implication that all the screaming children are going to be over in Ft Myers. That has not been our experience in some of the locations on Sanibel. The children-central Orlando experience it isn't because it is, in some ways, about as "dead" as it can be (and Captiva is even more dead) but that's one reason a lot if us like the place.

I agree completely with Dukey on Captiva.

My guess is that the OP's trip in early November should be a great time to avoid other people's kids. They should be in school.

We have stayed at Ocean's Reach and like it. Small, close to beach.

We have stayed at Island Beach Club, Pine Cove, Kings Crown and Loggerhead Cay.

I have found all of them to be nice and quiet.

Like Ackislander said, the kids will be in school.

Thanks for the responses. I've booked a place at King's Crown which is next to Sand Pointe and looks lovely.

reeselis, you will love King's Crown!
