Sandiego accommodation????

Hi, looking for accommodation in Sandiego thats popular with the young crowd (24 years old).Travelling this summer - any ideas. Thanks.
Rich.

First idea: it's two words-- "San Diego". If you've tried to search and not found anything, that's why.

Second: If you want hip near downtown, the W. Simple. But the crowd will skew a bit older than 24-- it's a pricey hotel with a chic vibe.

This is a hard one-- I usually stay with friends in SD. Maybe somewhere in Mission Beach...? Or Hillcrest (not a lot of good choices there, however)?

Any locals want to take a crack at this?

I agree with rjw, probably Mission
Beach. It still won't be cheap, though. What price range are you looking for?

I did priceline back in August and got US Grant Hotel (I think it was a Wyhdam hotel.) I got it for $70 a night. It was right near the Gas Lamp district (LOTS OF NIGHTLIFE for a 24 yr old) and Horton Plaza (outdoor 3 level mall with food). I was right in the heart of the city. Parking was pricey ($10 a night).

Tons of fun!!

I like the US Grant a lot, actually (stayed there on business a while back). And the Gaslamp is pretty hopping with fun nightlife, so that's a good suggestion.

Budget - around $250. Thanks for your suggestions - I'll ckeck them out.

Far & away, I would suggest Pacific Beach. There's a good Best Western right on the beach not far from the hot nightlife on Garnet street:

Best Western Blue Sea Lodge

You might want to try Pacific Beach. We stayed at the Pacific Terrace Hotel. A little pricey but worth it. Convenient location to all of SD favorite tourist spots and right on the beach. Hope this helps. Enjoy SD no matter where you stay. It's a fantastic city.

Recommend Ocean park Inn, 710 Grand Ave. Phone 858 483-5858 - www.oceanparkinn.com. Excellent location right on the beach.

www.sandiego.org often has offers on hotels and lots of other information as this site.

Look at tripadvisor.com for reviews on this hotel and others in San Diego.

Best wishes for your summer trip wherever you decide to stay.
