San Jose Airport to San Fran or Oakland CA to San fran?

Which air port between San Jose and Oakland is easier to get to San Francisco from?
The cheapest flight is to San Jose however we would be arrive late at night so the caltrain is out of the question. Would it make more sense to fly into Oakland to get to San Francisco. It would be like $50 more expensive to fly into Oakland but then would it be easier to get to San Fran? (which would make up for the difference in price)

OAK by far, by BART -- but how late? I personally wouldn't want to be at the Coliseum BART station late at night. Is one of you a big, burly guy

But seriously -- OAK and either BART, or a cab.

With the new BART Connector from OAK to the BART Station you are in no danger even if you are a Little guy as you are never outside.
Take the connector then the escalator down to the Station were you catch the train.

Stewbear: you don't have to be outside to see shady stuff at that BART station. But it IS better for sure.

It would probably eat up your savings to fly into San Jose. A car service would cost at least $200.

I'd probably fly to Oakland and take an UberX car. I checked the price and right now it would be about $40 to downtown San Francisco. Could be more or less depending on traffic, time of day, etc.

The air tram plus BART adds up really fast if you're more than one person.
