San Fransisco Advice?

My hubby and I are planning to go to California for 1 week over Thanksgiving 2002...We were thinking 3-5 days in San Fransisco...? Also, thought we'd go nearby for 1-3 days...any thoughts? Should we go to the wine country....(napa?)We've never been to the area so we want to see the best there is to explore during this 1 week trip...any thoughts???????

Thanks!

SA is one of the more popular and more controversial topics of discussion here so I would suggest you type the words in the text search. Please don't be lazy sweetie. You have to learn to do some searching yourself.

Sorry, what is SA?

melissa,

As long as you are going, you might as well learn how to spell it correctly. It is "San Francisco".

Hope that helps.

Native

Native, why so grouchy today? It wasn't melissa who spelled it "SA" It was a rather nasty response from someone named magda. Melissa, do a search here as well as go to www.sfgate.com. You might also go to a bookstore or library and pick up a general guide book to start with and then some back with specific questions.

Melissa,

Hit Nappa Valley for a day, then drive sober south to Carmel, Pebble Beach or Monteray Bay along Route 1. It is the most exquisite, inspirational drive along the West Coast. Have fun!!

Santa Cruz is nearby and very nice too.
Have a good trip.

Melissa, keep asking the questions you're asking. That's why the forum is here. Laziness is not taking the time to reply constructively.....

Try to hit Suasalito for an afternoon. It's just north of the city once you cross the Golden Gate bridge. Or, take a ferry ride over. It's got some quaint little shops and a couple of fun bars/pubs. Plus, the houses on the hills are very nice to look at, and there's a nice sidewalk along the water to stroll.

Enjoy!

Melissa,
Ignore the griping comments. I have always enjoyed and appreciated the advice from people on this forum.
I love San Francisco- it's wonderful. Wine country is great,(St. Helena is a nice town), but I also love Mendocino - a quaint, artsy town on the coast, or Carmel. You won't go wrong no matter what you do. Have fun!
