San Franciso - looking for great tourist map

My husband and I are going to San Francisco on June 27th and have never been there before. I am wondering if there is a great touristy kind of map out there that we can buy ahead of time. We went to Mexico recently and bought one for the island where we stayed and it was very helpful. Thanks

Not sure what you mean by a touristy map, I used Streetwise, which is what I usually use for big cities.

Your very first stop in SF should be to 900 Market St.

If you want a classic tourist trap, go to Tommy's Joynt.

It was a tourist trap when I went there in 1965, and it's not changed a whole lot.

Will you have a car or take buses? With a car, I don't know. If buses, the MUNI map is the best, not only it's the city map, but bus routes indicated in color that makes them much easier to follow.

TOM FULLER: the visitor's center had moved out of that glass place at least a year ago. It's now on Powell somewhere near Sutter St.

I am a fan of mapeasy maps - they are pictoral with notes.
