San Francisco's Maritime Museum

Hello
Will be in SF next month. Interested in seeing the Pampanito. I've a map that indicates the museum is closed until 2009 for renovation. Will the Pampanito be accesible?
thanks, as always!

Looks open to me: http://www.maritime.org/pamphome.htm

If you have a National Park Pass, it works at this site.

Pampanito is not in the museum's building. All ships must be accessible, and so is Hyde St Pier.

the USS Pampinot is docked at Pier 45, separate from the rest of the Maritime Museum. Check out this site:

You should also not miss the Hyde Street Pier that Faina mentioned. It has many more ships and boats docked there, including the sailing ship, the Balcutha.

Across from the Hyde Street Pier is the Visitor's Center which is actually under the Argonaut Hotel. Lots of interesting stuff in there.

The main Maritime Museum building itself is closed until 2009 for repairs. Just passed by it a couple of days ago and it was all boarded up.

Enjoy our wonderful seafaring heritage! :)
