San Francisco with a toddler - November 2011
Dear friends,
My husband will be attending a congress in San Francisco and I´ll go along with our 2 years-old daughter and my mother. He wants to be near the Moscone Convention Center, but I don´t know if it´s a good area to stay and explore the city. Suggestions about hotels, places to go, kid-friendly activities, restaurants, and so on will be greatly appreciated. We´ll go early November (5-12th), so advice on weather will be helpful as well. Thanks in advance! |
Moscone Center is very central and therefore very urban, although there's a really nice urban park right nearby. Union Square (main shopping area), Chinatown, the financial district, North Beach and the Embarcadero (along the Bay) are all within a 20 minute walk. It's a little farther to Fisherman's Wharf, but still and easy cab ride. November may not be the best weather, but likely won't be bad either (probably high 50s to low 60s, and although it's the beginning of rainy season, it doesn't usually rain much that early in the season).
Hotel depends on your budget - there's the W (typical W, modern), Four Seasons, Marriott, etc. all right nearby. |
Thanks sf7307!
What´s not to be missed in San Francisco? I´ll check the hotels you mentioned, need one with a big room, for three adults and a baby. Thanks! |
