San Francisco/Wine Country
My daughter and I will be in San Francisco for a conference Sept.7-12. Not planning to rent a car but would like to go to wine country. Suggestions?
The conference is at the Westin in downtown, where might we spend our extra nights that would be a bit more reasonable? Thanks, Arlene |
Why not rent a car for the day? Its the best way to get around. Its about 1.5 hr drive N. of SF to get to either Napa or Sonoma Counties....... Other than that, I guess your hotel could arrange seats on a bus tour, but its hardly as much fun. You could get a private car and driver too, but that's pricey.

For a more reasonable hotel, but in the Union Square very near the Westin St. Francis (if that is the one you mean) try the Chancellor.

check out comprehensive san francisco shuttle tours for a 9 hour small van tour to Napa Valley. I checked out a number of tours and this really seemed like a good one.

we just got back from SF yesterday. We stayed at Best Western Tuscan Inn @ Fisherman's Wharf. It was in a nice location...close to the F-Line/cablecars..but not too close to the ticky tacky tourist stuff.
