Rebecca, think you made the right choice. For those of us who live in the Bay area, though, a word of warning about "remote parking" or whatever they call it in Oakland. The buses are very few and far between. Last time it took us an hour to get to our car in the remote lot. We could have been home from SFO by then. If we fly out of Oakland again, we'll use "Park and Fly" since we saw about 6 of their buses while waiting for the remote lot. Our SWA flight left from next door to Jet Blue---looked like a good and efficient airline. And, Yes, Oakland is THE airport for those going to the wine country as San Jose is it for those going to Monterey/Carmel/Big Sur. SFO is generally a mess especially if there is weather.
