Chris - Thanks for the tour! We're in the middle of planning our trip to SF this summer... you're write-up and photos just enhanced my anticipation!
By the way, just last night I was looking at Gray Line city tour and All San Francisco city tour - any particular reason you used Gray Line? We have done Gray Line in areas all over the country, but All SF internet rates are lower than GL. Any suggestion?

hi dg !
I used Grayline principally because I asked some of my US-based colleagues here (local San Franciscans) and most of them recommended Grayline [I'm visiting SF for work].
I think the major tour operators are Grayline, Red & White and Blue & Gold. I'd recommend sticking to the major operators from a consumer protection basis.
I hope you have a great time in SF ! I think there are many really nice places outside of SF to see as well eg. Sonoma, Napa, Monterey, Carmel etc. But I didn't get time to go.
cheers,
Chris
