San Francisco to Yosemite Visitor Center
We hosted a guest from German last week and he left us in NY to go see San Francisco and then take a road trip with friends through Yosemite and then to Vegas. Unfortunately he lost his passport and missed the first leg of the car ride and needs to find the quickest way from either San Francisco or Sonoro to the Yosemite Visitor Center via public transport. He is hoping to do this tomorrow. Since I am clueless I thought I'd ask here. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

From Amtrak.com
bus 6662 from the Ferry Building to Emeryville. The bus leaves at 7:05AM arrives in EMY at 7:30AM San Joaquin train #712 from EMY to Merced - leaves EMY @ 7:40 and arrives in MCD at 10:31.
bus #8412 (operated by YARTS) picks up passengers from the train and takes them to Yosemite arriving at about 1:30PM.
The fare is only $38. The Ferry Building is the only place in San Francisco with a ticket counter. There are several other Amtrak bus stops but he needs to get the ticket first.
