Any recommendations for a good restaurant with a view in san francisco?

For spectacular views of San Francisco, it's the Carnelian Room at the top of the Bank of America building. Wow!!

If the menu is too pricey for your budget, at least do yourself a favor and go up there for a drink...at sunset, if possible.

Green's --great view of the GG Bridge and the Bay.

The Equinox, atop the Hyatt Embarcadero.

It's a rotating restaurant, so you get a 360 degrees view of San Francisco.

Another place with a view to have a drink is the top of the Marriott on 4th and Mission. Appropriately named: the "View Room". One small glass of wine from $7.50 on up. You are paying for the view.

Other great views <b>of</b> San Francisco can be had from Sausalito, Tiburon and even Larkspur. Also, Berkeley Marina and the Oakland Hills.

We sat in a restaurant in North Beach (Pinocchios) and had a nice city view with the Transamerica building in the distance.

At Ghiradelli Square, used to be Kulletto &amp; McKormicks but now it's something different. Still good view of the Bay and Alcatraz.

The Cheesecake factory above Macy's at Union Square is fun for a cheaper afternoon type of lunch. They have a great patio that overlooks Union Square - and one of the biggest menu's I've ever seen - you could even split a sandwich and a cheesecake and have your fill.

Way past it's heyday, bu the Cliff House has a nice veiw of the Pacific

Another vote for the Carnelian room. If you catch it right, the fog rolls in just above the windows...you feel like you're sitting on the edge of a cloud, looking over the Bay...sheer magic!

What's up w/ M&amp;K's at Ghiardelli Sq?

I heard Kulteo and the former owner of Catahoula's in St Helena are working on a new restaurant in SF. That would be &quot;ono&quot;! =P~

We also like sitting on the front patio at Gordon Biersch's on Embarcadero and watching the ships go by on The Bay while you're almost under the Bay Bridge.

Best View will not necessarily guarantee the best food. Julius Castle has a great view and food is so so. Carnelian room has a great view and food is okay. Price range is something to post as well. Frankly when we go to the City we enjoy the view somewhere for drinks and then have a great meal that might not be with a view. Your choice. Embarcadero is good for lower views of the water and the bay bridge and there are some good restaurants along the water front (Boulevard and the Red Herring are a couple). Do you like fancy, low key, exotic, international?

We spent a perfect day sitting outside at the Alta Mira in Sausalito and enjoyed lunch and watching the boats in the bay.
