San Francisco Nike Women's Marathon Day = a Traffic Nightmare?
Hello,
My sister and I will be arriving in SF at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 17, the day of the Nike Women's marathon (starts at 7). We've already dealt with the hotel situation (impossible to priceline), but we are now wondering what to do about getting into town that morning.
I am assuming it will be very crowded and some streets will be blocked. Should we expect this? Any advice on what would be the best way -- taxi or shuttle?
Thank you.
Sheila

Perhaps this will help-Here's the race course map-Starts at Union Square-heads over along the Embarcadero to the Marina then the Presidio, out on Lincoln to El Camino del Mar and over to Pt Lobos, up and around GG park, out the Great Hwy, around Lake Merced and Finish At the Great Hwy & Lincoln.

Hi,
I'm so sorry I didn't respond to your replies. I got so busy with packing and some other family things that I forgot to check back. It's so rude to ask and run. I apologize.
We had absolutely NO problem with traffic. Our hotel was the Hyatt - Fisherman's Wharf -- not my first choice for location, but it worked out very well, and the hotel itself was great.
