San Francisco Hotels that accept small dogs
Need some fast info for a friend who has two small dogs and is planning some time in SF very soon. If you don't personally know of any hotels, any suggestions for where I might find this info?
|
Kimpton hotels usually take dogs. i think on e of them in SF is the hotel Monaco.

Thanks for responding Icuy. I found a good site after I posted this and found a bunch of hotels that accept dogs. Some with weight restrictions, others with huge deposits, and yet others who offer doggie treats on arrival. One accepted dogs but no cats! You're correct a Klimpton hotel was in the bunch. Thanks again, problem solved!

Hello Giovanna, the Hotel Florence (another Kimpton Hotel) accepts pets also. Believe I saw a notice prior arrangements needed to be made with the hotel (believe guests with pets are put on one floor or one area of the hotel).
|
Can't go wrong with the Monaco (my favorite) or Villa Florence (LoveItaly's favorite) or any of the Kimpton group hotels.
|
Thanks LoveItaly and Starrsville. I think the hotels you suggested were on the list I printed out last night. My husband took it to work for the dog owner so don't have it to check. Some of the hotels sounded terrific, even without a dog! Never stay in hotels in The City, but maybe it would be a good idea one of these days. Take in a play or go to listen to jazz and then spend the night instead of driving home.

Hi Giovanna, I recently spent 6 days in SF..met with some good friends for three full days (we had so much fun), two days on my own (got lots of shopping done plus a good rest on the rainy day) and met with another friend on the last day. I stayed at the VillaFlorence..great location and wonderful hotel staff along with a comfortable room, wonderful hosted wine hour each evening etc. I needed to "get away" and it was perfect. I packed very light and as I was packing I realized I didn't have to worry about the "rules" for packing when flying. You are close by, do think about maybe a weekend in SF, imagine you two would enjoy it!

Sounds wonderful! Glad to hear you had a few relaxing days. I'm going to The City tomorrow with a neighbor and her daughter for the day. We'll take BART and check out the new Bloomingdale's, nose around the mall and then walk over to Union Square to see all the beautiful windows. I'm hoping the daughter will see something she likes that I can buy for her. Otherwise it's hotfoot it to Stoneridge for a mall gift card.
I'm always done with my shopping long before this, but one niece and nephew changed the game plan and really threw me off. Ah the joys of family politics! Again, I'm very happy to hear about your "vacation" in San Francisco. I'm sure it did you a world of good. I think a weekend would be fun for us too. The hotel sounds terrific. |
Yes Giovanna, same problem here! I am not going to a local Christmas party Saturday night because...well you know, family politics as you said. Buon Natale!!
|
Hope your Christmas is the Happiest Ever, and the New Year is good to you!!

Giovanna-
Could you post the site where you found dog friendly hotels? My parents want to do some traveling with their little dogs and have never done this before. Thank you! |
MrsJenn, tell your parents about LaQuinta. The newer ones are the LQ Inn and Suites. They are VERY nice and all allow dogs. The regular LaQuinta Inns are the older properties (not the nice new design) but still adequate.

I googled and came up with the site, but unfortunately didn't keep the URL I used from the many google gave me. However, here is some of my research:
Executive Hotel Vintage Court, Union Square - $100.00 deposit Hotel Nikko - Dogs under 15# The Powell Hotel - $20.00/day; 20# and under. They provide a dog gift on arrival. Argonaut Hotel @ Fisherman's Wharf (a Kimpton Hotel) - 50# maximum Cartwright Hotel - Up to 80# Best Western Tuscan Inn Fisherman's Wharf - Pets allowed - fees may apply Galleria Park Hotel - Have a pet program that includes amenities such as dog bowls and treats. The Opal - Pets allowed - no fee- weight limit Prescott Hotel (a Kimpton Hotel) Marriott San Francisco Fisherman's Wharf - $100.00 deposit This is rather sketchy, but I'm sure you will be able to find these hotels online. At least now you have a selection that do accept dogs with some restrictions. Hope this helps. |
