Please don't confuse out-of-towners. Princess is now on pier 27, don't remember how long ago they switched, probably several years.
See if you can find a place to stay close to pier 27, if not, it will be a taxi ride. |
Sorry, missed your reply about Drake. Nice area, restaurants around, public transport. Take a taxi to the pier.

I'm not a cruise person & am unfamiliar with the various cruise lines. This articles seems to indicate that the Princess "something" is docked at pier 35.
http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/articl...ut-5765244.php Pier 35 is a flat 10 block walk from the Ferry building. It seems that many airports have you walking (what seems like) 10 blocks within the airport complex with your bags - just to get to the car rental offices. Pier 27 is 4 blocks less. Stu Dudley |
Stu: Most people who cruise take more luggage than they could possibly walk even 2 or 3 (level) blocks w/.
They use trolleys in the airports and the cruise lines take care of it after that. |
Stay at the Sir Francis Drake and take a cab or uber to the ship.

Thanks everyone. Joined Kimptons rewards and the room rate dropped to $129 per night. We also have a Über account. We will have a great time, thanks to your help. We are in very good health and love to work. Probably will see and enjoy more than some half our age. Thanks again.
