SAN FRANCISCO HOTELS

I am planning a honeymoon to San Francisco in August and wanted to get to some advice on good hotels. I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

We just got back from San Fran a couple of weeks ago. We stayed at the Radisson Hotel at Fisherman's Wharf and couldn't have been more pleased. The rooms are clean, the pool in the courtyard is lovely and there's a walkway which leads through the courtyard out the back of the property and you're right on the wharf near Pier 39, the boat cruise docks, the tours, close to the cable cars, and lots of good restaurants.
I got a special on the internet on the hotel website.
Have fun.

Kennedy,

I am not sure if you realize this but the weather in SF in August will be quite cool: foggy and high temps in the low 60's. SF's summer weather is nothing like most of CA with sunshine and 75 or 80 degree weather. Just thought I'd mention this in case you wee not aware. Usually I tend to think of a honeymoon destination as sunny and warm.

err... maybe.

Maybe it will be cool and cloudy/foggy. And maybe it will be bloody hot & humid.

From about Aug 15th on, the fog tends to roll out and stay out. There are av. temps for the month, but they are just that, averages.

Bottom line, pack for both 50/60 and 70/80 temps.

susanspike is right on about SF weather in August. The pea soup fog usually sticks around until about 11:00 AM. The sun might come out for a couple of hours until 2 PM and then its socked in with fog again. Some days in August you will not see the sun at all. It is almost unheard of to have temps even near 70 degrees during this time of year. This would not be my top choice for a honeymoon.

I have stayed at the Radisson Fisherman's Wharf. It is okay. I would suggest going on Priceline and bidding $61 for a 4 star hotel in Union Square. I just did that and got the Grand Hyatt San Francisco. It was great!
