San Francisco Hotel For Anniversary
I'm a resident of San Francisco, looking for a nice hotel in the city to spend the weekend for my anniversary. So far I've looked into The Palomar, Mandarin Oriental, Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons. The Palomar is running a special on their rooms and I could get a suite with a jacuzzi for $209.00 per night, The Mandarin would be about $325.oo per night and the Ritz and Four Seasons would be about $379.00 per night, which also includes a full breakfast.
The Palomar receives great reviews and considering the price, it would appear I should choose that hotel. Any reason I should consider the other choices?? Thanks |
Definitely take the PALOMAR--
and make sure you reserve a table for dinner at their incredible restaurant called the "FIFTH FLOOR"--which is located on the fifth floor... Ask for a table on the side that has the curtains..very private and very very romantic.... The chef used to be the chef of Aqua, a terrific UPSCALE seafood restaurant...and this restaurant is even BETTER!! small, intimate and FABULOUS!! Have a great time! |
I'm familiar with the rooms and suites at the Ritz and FS. The prices you quoted are for standard rooms I assume. If you're not a 'hotel snob', if you're only going to use the room, and if you won't be relying on hotel services much, then I'd recommend the Palomar as well. Because the standard rooms at the RC and FS aren't twice as nice (price wise) if you fit the criteria above.

Not on your list, but did you consider the Archbishop's Mansion? It's pretty romantic, especially if you spring for one of the bigger rooms.

Thanks for your reply's. I'm pretty sure we will go with the Palomar.

My parents recently stayed at the Palomar and loved it. The special rate for the suite seems really reasonable, too.
