San Francisco Hotel- Beresford Arms or similar?

We love this little boutique hotel (Beresford Arms) not far from the Union Square area, but it is totally booked for the weekend in October when we wil be there. If anyone if familiar with this hotel, can you recommend something similar? Last time I think we paid around $139. per night. (could have been more). Also, there is another small hotel not far from this hotel that looked charming, and I cannot remember the name. It was also on Sutter Street. Might anyone have an idea about that?
Thanks in advance for your help.

For some reason October is crazy in San Francisco. I've never been able to to go to the City for our anniversary because I've never been able to book a room. You might try the JDV Hotels. They have a lot of properties around the City and several in Union Square.
Sorry can't help you with the name of the hotel on Sutter, good luck.

On Sutter St - was it Rex?

Anyway, there are several posters looking for a hotel in SF in October, and the city is booked. To see what if available, you can use Expedia - pull up the map, and see if this is right for you.

Can't help you as we have never been to SF before, but very excited to read that you love the Beresford Arms as we will be staying there for a week from 28 September!

Beresford Arms is great. I stayed there years ago while seeing The Phantom of the Opera for an early anniversary. We off handedly told them that it was our anniversary and they sent up champagne and chocolates. Very nice.
