San Francisco Hotel - 3 choices
 

I have been given the option to pick one of these hotels for a 5 days convention, which would you choose and why? Thanks!

- Westin St. Francis
- Hilton San Francisco
- Crowne Plaza San Francisco

I would pick the Westin St. Francis, which is right on Union Square and a venerable hotel. I would not choose the Hilton because it is just a large, faceless convention hotel. I have not stayed at the Crowne Plaza. It is a block up Powell Street from the St. Francis, but still just a chain hotel.

Which Hilton? I recently stayed at the Hilton Financial and it was very nice. Edge of Chinatown, nice spa on premises.

Hi ievers, if the Hilton you are referring to is the one on O'Farrell I agree with jtrandolph, I would chose the St.Francis which is just across the street (Powell St.) west of Union Sq. I have not stayed at the "new" Hilton which is in the Financial District (I think it was formerly a Holiday Inn) so I know nothing about that hotel. But TrlMaven has..so that is good information.

Yes, the Hilton is the one on 333 O'Farrell Street.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in May and I loved it! Loved the location, the service, the room. Their workout room is super cramped, though--the guy on the elliptical machine had to stop pedaling so I could pass him.
