Lots of excellent ethnic restaurants on Valencia St between 16th and 24th St; forgot parking there.

Ferry Plaza farmers mkt is an excellent idea; a restaurant near there (Plant) has a tasty brunch.

For beautiful views, lunch at Green's in Fort Mason (too expensive for dinner).

For more of a splurge, I highly recommend Saha in Carlton Hotel.

Burma Superstar is absolutely delicious and fun, but plan on a long wait.

If you are visiting MOMA or Yerba Buena Gardens, try Samovar Tea Lounge. Not the cheapest but enough choices that you can make a meal for <$25. Tulan Garden cheap, fabulous Vietnamese food (6th St) is not far.

________
samovar NOT a good choice of you are really hungry, if you are trying to keep it inexpensive. You can easily spend 25-30 and not be full.

And while i LOVE tu Lan it isn't for everyone. It is a hole in the wall, greasy spoon kind of Vietnamese on 6th and market surrounded by drunks and homeless.
