San Francisco: Diva or Chancellor

Have duplicate reservations at both places while SO attends a convention at the convention center.

Which one should I keep, and which cancel?

Anyone?

I checked locations, both good, never stayed in a hotel in SF.

We used the Marines' Memorial for decades; then the Ren Stanford Court, but Hot Chancellor is great (a back room on the 11th floor was super in April)for the cost.

Stayed at the Chancellor several years ago, best bargain on Union Square. Rooms are a bit tired, but the location can't be beat. Avoid the hotel restaurant, but have breakfast next door at Sears. Best pancakes on earth!

Stayed at the Diva last month to do some Christmas shopping. At their site - http://www.hoteldiva.com/ I got a $99 rate for a king. In my book the place gets 2.5 stars out of 5. It's clean & everything worked fine. ps - next door is a Starbucks.

I prefer the Chancellor. The Diva's fairly recent renovation is a little quirky for me. Chancello's location right on Union Square is a plus, and the staff is very friendly and helpful

Chancellor gets my vote. Location is great. Clean hotel. Small rooms, but at least you won't get lost in them.
