San Francisco day spas
We are looking for a spa in the SF area. Any suggestions?

The Claremont-Berkeley

In SF: Kabuki, Nob Hill Spa at Huntington Hotel. In SF area: Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay
|
Forgot about the Kabuki..an experience!
You can go for sushi or noodles afterwards. It would be my pick in SF. |
kabuki spa is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love it! |
I like Kabuki, but I don't know how it compares to other spa experiences.
It seems like they have more emphasis on the water than the treatments. For example, no mani, pedi, waxing... However, it is a totally relaxing, contemplative place to be, and some of their products are great. The salt glow scrub smells heavenly. |
I heard there is a spa in Nordstrom on Union Square, and it's good. Anybody on this board been there?
|
Spa Nordstrom is in the same building as the big downtown Nordstrom store in S.F. The spa is very nice - it does not have a hair salon, so it's very quiet. For Spa Nordstrom or any of the other suggestions, do call as soon as you know when you'd like to go - the good spas book up fast. Of course, there are always cancellations, if you want to leave things till the last moment, but don't depend on it.

Elizabeth Arden's Red Door Salon in Union Square is very nice - I plan to return soon!
|
My favorite spa in SF is the Refresh Day Spa on Post Street. I go there every couple months for either a massage or facial, and I've always had a wonderful experience. Ask for Erica if you want a massage, she's very good. www.refreshdayspa.com

I would have to pick Kabuki too! It is quite an experience. I like Red Door also, but the spa does not have a wet/dry sauna to relax in the last time I went.
Chico, has the Red Door added saunas? |
To answer Girlys question. The Red Door has not added saunas - but it is still a great spa.
