Ha! When I saw this title I just knew it was from your Faina!! I don't think anyone loves chocolate more than you do (maybe as much but not more, lol).

Wrong! I am a convert! From any chocolate in Russia to dark chocolate in America to Swiss Ice-cream.

Wonder, where my wandering will take me next :)

What's this about Russian chocolate? Details, please! My DS and DIL are going to her home in Kaliningrad in a month. What's your fave?

FainaAgain Sep 8th, 2006 08:02 AM

Kopp, I lived in a small town in Belarus growing up in a poor family, so then it was: anything I could get tasted good.

I honestly don't remember from 16 years ago. Nor do I care now, having access in San Francisco to the finest European chocolates.

If they still have it, try "bird's milk" candy or cake, it's a "souffle" (sp?) type, VERY good! not chocolate, still yummy!

Also ask on the European board, there was lately a thread on Russian chocolate bottles filled with vodka.

Faina, this is waaaay too cool! My mother's parents came to the USA in 1917 from Brest-li-tovsk (sp?) in Belarus.

What a coincidence, we left Belarus through Brest! (formerly known as Brest-Litovsk)
