Starrsville,

Thanks for the tip on putting in added words which narrowed down the search! I only put in SF (duh!) Now I know...

Starrsville,

As one who seems to be a regular on this site, I’m sure you’ve offered helpful suggestions to many fellow travelers. Just today I saw a post where you recommended very specific info to someone looking for a place to lunch in P’town, MA

For whatever reason, rather than offering the same helpful suggestions to me, you were critical of my question – repeatedly suggesting that I had done no research prior to posting –only pointing me to prior threads and/or editor comments.

When I responded by noting that: a)the posts I saw when searching under SF were numerous and didn’t address my specific needs, b) I didn’t know I could put more specific criteria in the search box (even thanking you for the hint!), and c) don’t feel that editor referrals are best, you simply chose to cut and paste snippets from my past posts (taken out of context) that cast me in a bad light – as if I’m lazy.

Even if I were – which I’m not – what’s the harm in posting an inquiry here in order to get quick access to relevant/current feedback?!? Most of the incoming posts relate to threads where queries have been previously asked/answered, yet this is the 1st time I’ve seen a negative response. If those reading messages feel it’s a waste of their time to post, that's fine - let the folks who want to offer ideas do so! To use your phrasing: Some would like to be genuine and helpful, others prefer to just see their names on the website, it would seem.

Not sure what your reasoning in taking time to be rude is - I assume that everyone on this site is here to help one another – I know I am. Just a pipe dream I guess.

All righty then…

Luvs2- I found your post fine. Actually, it was pretty specific. I have found many posters more vague than you. It takes some practice doing searches. When I was new on the board, I called someone a know it all after I got some attitude, and got attacked like I call them a horrible name. We all need to chill out a bit. Thanks for listening.
