I live in the area in SF called the FINANCIAL DISTRICT. We are across the street from the FERRY BUILDING and water. If you can find a rental in this area you will be in the middle of a great area. Walk to the ball park, Ferry Building, Pier 39 and many great restaurants. Also near Bart and cable car stops. I cannot recommend a rental, but I can say this is one great area to try to find a place.

I'd stay around the Marina or Pacific Heights.
