San Francisco and beyond with a 13 year old
 

We're planning a trip to San Francisco next summer with our 13 year old grandson who wants to visit Alcatraz. My husband wants to play golf at least once. What other things would interest a teenager? We'll have about 10 days and wonder if this is enough time for a quick visit to Yosemite also. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Go to a Giants game at AT&T Park.
Duck Tour of the City
Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge
Fisherman's Wharf
Go to Muir Woods.

And yes, if you'll have 10 days, you have enough time for a side trip to Yosemite. Make your Yosemite reservations soon. Also, make your Alcatraz reservations in advance -- it does sell out.

Introduce him to Jack London if he doesn't know him and take him to the Jack London State Park in Glen Ellen.
