San Francisco - Airport Shuttles - any preference

Hello, Does anyone have any particular preferences on which shuttle I should/should not reserve for our upcoming trip to San Francisco. I have various coupons from many shuttle services (information received from Convention & Visitors Bureau) so they all seem to be pretty close in costs. Is one shuttle preferable to the other insofar as reliability, wait times, etc.? We will be going to/from SFO to Fisherman's Wharf area. Thanks for any first hand reports, or comments... Vacationmom

In my experience, all the shuttle companies are the same. I now take whichever one is there. Go for whatever company is the least expensive. I have never had to wait more then 5 minutes for a shuttle and the one going to the hotel areas are even more frequent. Be sure you look at the coupons--some are only good if you call ahead.

Thank you Kikahead... I had noticed that most of my coupons do require an advance reservation. There will be 4, possibly 5, of us coming for the trip. If we have 4, we could go the taxi route, but for 5 we would need to take the shuttles. I will not know for sure until a day or two before we leave whether the 5th person will be able to come... Anyway, thanks!

The biggest traveling nightmare we ever had was with a airport shuttle in San Francisco. No problem TO the airport but the trip FROM SF back to the airport was like something out of a nightmare. The driver picked us up at our hotel with tons of time to get to the airport. TONS. Like 2 hours! Unfortunately, after my husband paid and tipped him he drove around SF picking up others, waiting outside hotels for people who were late, going past our hotel several times as he drove around town, stopped at the shuttle offices, and believe it or not turned around halfway to the airport because his shift was over, and then drove back to the office where another driver boarded the van. The whole time we were politely reminding him that our flight was LEAVING. He couldn't have cared less. I felt like a prisoner of war. We literally ran through the airport and got on our flight as they were closing the doors. NEVER AGAIN. Taxi!

I usually use Super Shuttle (Blue Van) because their policy is to have only 3 stops.

Thanks for the replies..... I know we have used Supper Shuttle in other cities and they seem to be reliable, so we will go that route if we have 5 people, and perhaps a taxi if we have 4..... Vacationmom
