For your own sanity, I would disregard Susan and winelover's advice. If you are going to Sonoma the next day, stayig by the airport is the best bet since you do not need to drive into Sf to get to the Sonoma frMateo Bridge to 880, etc. There are lots of great restaurants by the airport in Millbrae and San Mateo. If you like Chinese, try Hong Kong Flower Lounge at El Camino and Millbrae Avenue.
Below is a link to restaurants in Millbrae. Also, even though you were to stay in downtown SF as winelover suggests, you still will have to take 19th Avenue to get out of town to get to Sonoma
