This is my first time to san Francisco, I will be there for five days with my friends, we are in the 23+ ages. I have done some research and came to the conclusion that five days is not going to be enough lol what attractions would you consider a must see? also what would you recomend me for the night time? we like to go out and have a fun time we like everything except for country music. (our first day there would be a friday).

Both are excellent, but be prepared to open your wallet - neither is inexpensive! We had dinner at 1300 on Fillmore this past Friday night. I came to $130 per couple without wine (one cocktail each, one salad, main course, one dessert for the table, two coffees). If you are in the area late enough, there's a club up the street that's got great live music, but it doesn't get going until late. Let's put it this way -- we got there at 9 last Friday night and there was pretty much noone else there until after 10. It's called the Boom-Boom Room. Despite it's name, the music we heard was not "blues".

They could do just appetizers at Yoshi's for more reasonable prices.

Thanks everyone for all the info i will look into Yoshi's! We will be there next friday and will be staying at the fisherman's wharf. we basically like to explore everything we are the kind of people that go and try to see everything then go party and weak up early to continue :)

I would add Chinatown and Muir Woods to the lists above. We enjoyed Segway Tour as well. Don't miss the Saturday Farmers Market and it is free.

Make sure to add North Beach as it has a vibrant night life with lots of 21-35 year old party people.

Also, the Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park has an adult evening every Thursday with cocktails and live music.

My daughter has gone a few times and she enjoyed it.

Thanks so much for all the info!! This is the first time I try the forum and I am very satisfied :)

To add more ideas....

-I love strolling around the Embarcadero and getting a bite to eat there with a view. The Slanted Door has culinary Vietnamese food but you should make reservations; it is pricey'ish and very popular.

-If you had time, you could take the Bart to Berkeley and explore Shattuck and Telegraph avenues. Great pancultural, young, university, bohemian vibe. I love an Indian restaurant there called Biriyani house.... great food, incredibly cheap.

- of course, there are the classics: hop on a cable car, hot fudge sundae at Ghirardelli's, see the crooked Lombard street, explore Chinatown, including Stockton avenue which has more of the authentic bizarre food and wares.

I LOVED Yoshi's. Went with my 16 year old for dinner in August. Some of the best sushi we have ever had! It was costly though and I am not sure that the after hours attracted your age group? Any know? It seemed slighly older to me - but we did not stay - only saw the people coming in.

There are many walking tours of the various neighborhoods that you may find fun. The list is at SFCityGuide.org
They are free and the list will give you all the info for dates, times and place to meet. We plan to take advantage of a couple when we go next week. Have a wonderful time-- bring your "walking shoes" and a warm jacket and scarf- SF always seems chilly to me.

My wife is not leading any tours this month - she is recovering from rotator cuff surgery (too many curve balls). In April, she's leading several tours. One will be in French for some French Canadians.
