San Francisco
I will be visiting San Francisco, Nov. 5 - 7. Staying in Sausalito Fri & Sat and Cisco on Sunday. Any suggestions on dining? Prefer Italian or Steak/Seafood restaurant. Also, any unique and non-tourist items of interest would be appreciated. (Considering tour of Alcatraz..??) We will be spending most of Sunday (morn/afternoon) in Calistoga, (spa & wineries, not chosen yet either). Thank you for all valuable info.

Yikes! Cisco? Not another nickname! Or are you talking about the company? Sorry, but I couldn't help myself. Kuleto's has very good Italian food and great canoli for dessert.

My apologies Bill, how about SF for an abbreviated version? Thanks for the tip!!

I just replied to your other post. . .
DEFINITELY take the tour of Alcatraz! It was something my husband desperately wanted to see, and I went along with him reluctantly. I loved it. It was so interesting. . . Definitely get the audio tour of the cellblock. You must buy tickets in advance as it frequently sells out. |
I have heard tickets sell very quickly. I was actually debating on taking the evening tour to capture sunset and lighthouse, it's only 2.5 instead of the 5.5 so we may be rushed to see everything.
|
Do you mean 2.5 hours vs. 5.5 hours? We only spent about 2-2.5 hours there and were not rushed at all. We left on the first boat of the day. I would either do the first boat or the evening tour to avoid the crowds.
|
Yes..the 5.5 hrs includes Angel Island, I think?! Thanks for the advice on advance ticket purchase. We are doing the next to last evening tour which arrives back to Pier 39 at 20:45. Any suggestions on where to eat after tour?

I am a little confused...If you are spending Fri and Sat in Sausalito and San Francisco on Sunday, how can you be spending the morning/afternoon in Calistoga - that's 2 hour drive away. That doesn't leave much time for the City and any sightseeing.
