San Francisco
I am heading to San Fran and have 4 days to travel around the area. Should I do the High Sierra (Yosemite) or Northern Coast? I plan on camping but will not bring camping equipment with me as I am flying in. Are their outfitters in these areas? Cheap cabins or walled tents? I would prefer to go where it is not too busy. Any info would be appreciate.

That would not be Yosemite. Check out Point Reyes National Seashore. HTtY |

When is this trip?

next week

I cannot help you with camping info but Yosemite has tent cabins. Nothing in California is cheap though. Wishing you a fun trip!

Good luck in finding space in yosemite on late notice. Since u won't have equipment u might consider Camp Curry which is 1 step above tent camping. Pretty rustic. BUT u will have crowds there. Big Sur would b a nice choice but I am not familiar with "outfitters" for camping unless it would b REI

Thanks folks....best camp ground on the coast as far north as Ft Bragg ?

I should add that Sonoma State Park just south of Jenner is spectacularly beautiful, and it has good hiking opportunities: http://sonomahikingtrails.com/parks/...t-state-beach/
I believe there are many great hiking opportunities to keep you busy for four days without going all the way to Ft. Bragg. However, if you go there. Check out the headlands at Mendocino. HTtY |

or if you need a cabin, the Manchester beach KOA is great. lock your food up, away from the raccoons. |
I suggest you do bring basic camping gear with you and not waste time trying to find it on arrival. I've flown with gear in a canvas army duffle, checked it, no problem.

thank you all

Hendy Woods has small sleeping cabins. But you have to bring your own sleeping gear.
