San Fran hotels with suites?

Can anyone recommend any San Fran hotels with suites that have separate bedrooms? We have an 11mos infant and would love to be able to give her some quiet/privacy so she can go to bed at a decent hour and take naps more easily.

tks!

What's your price range?

mw2006 Jul 30th, 2008 08:58 AM

Under $400. Ideally closer to $300, but I doubt that is possible.

Sorry, more questions. Is there a particular area of the city you are interested in -- Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Cow Hollow, other? Do you prefer a "fancy" hotel, a boutique hotel, a motel? Do you need parking?

I'm suggesting this on the recommendation of other Fodorites (I live here, so don't stay in hotels here too often). This is not "downtown", but it looks like an excellent choice, and it is near both Union Street and Chestnut Street, both of which are "boutique-y" neighborhoods - great for a stroll, shopping and eating.

Here's another place to consider. They offer real apartments--many with fabulous city views. It's not elegant, but the location is great and the price is right: http://www.grosvenorsuites.com/index.htm

Me, too.

The Monaco ( a very nice Kimpton hotel near Union Square) has suites that might be in your price range.

Grosvenor Suites on Nob Hill has suites in your price range. Good as long as you don't want AC.

Thanks, everyone!

I'll look into all of your suggestions.

Oh, and I don't really know where in the city we should stay. We are a flexible, so our search is more focused on finding something that will fit us.

Have you looked at the Argonaut (another Kimpton hotel)? Whether their one bedroom suites will be in your price range depends on when you're going as the rates do fluctuate, but it's another place to consider.

mw2006 Jul 31st, 2008 07:54 AM

I did look at the Argonaut, but it was out of the price range for the other couple traveling with us.

I think we are going to have to just suck it up and forget the suite this time. We've narrowed our choices to the Omni and Serrano Hotel because both have great specials right now (and I posted for advice on them).

Thanks again,everyone!
