San Fran Hotels and Double beds
Three members of my family are going to SF in July and would like to stay at a nice hotel with 2 queen beds instead of a roll away for the 3rd. None of the 4* hotel web sites and Yahoo travel have listings for 2 queens, only 2 doubles. We wanted to stay in the Union Sq or Fish Wharf areas....isnt there any hotel in those areas that have what Im looking for? I dont think I ever ran into this problem in any other big city. Thanks in advance, I know its a really wierd posting:))

Try The Argonaut at Fisherman's Wharf. We stayed there last week and found it to be a very nice hotel with a nautical theme. We had a room with 2 queen beds. The initial appearance made us think they were double beds, but after crawling in we could tell they were queens. I think the higher ceilings and layout of the room makes the beds seem smaller than they really are.

The Chancellor on Union Square was great recently, but I don't know the various bedding layouts.

Is that because you slept all night on a barstool, m'mo? :-"

Ugh, double beds, the bane of Priceline and many hotels for that matter. I don't understand what geniuses came up with the idea of double beds for hotels, seriously, do you know anyone who sleeps in a double bed at home?

The Best Western Tuscan Inn at Fisherman's Wharf is quite nice---they show suites with a king bed and a sofa bed, and also rooms with "2 double beds" which I suspect are queen-size beds. You could call and ask.

We've stayed at The Tuscan Inn a few times and once got a room with 2 BIG beds.
Did feel to be queen size since we fit prefectly and room to spare. Very nice hotel too. I hate getting a California King. Waaay too big, IMHO. |
You could also consider a suite with 2 double beds and a sofa.
This was our requirement while traveling with 5 children. We carried an Aero bad the last few years. It was a godsend. The one we have has a sleeping bag attached and it rolls into a small-ish- bag. We put it in a duffle and carried it all over the place. It has a cordless pump that inflates it in a minute or so. Very comfortable, I highly recommend it for people who find themselves in need of an extra bed. http://aerobed.125west.com/html/aero..._camp_bag.html |
