Hello everyone!
I will be going to SF for 4 days in my vacation. I will be using the bart from Fremont...looking for things to do. Any ideas on """""MUST""&quo t;" sees? I am not spending alot of cash...still a student with student budget. I am leaving 8th August.

There are plenty of things to do in SF without spending a lot of money.

I would get a transit pass first of all - you can get them at the visitors center right above the Powell BART station and it is good on all SF public transit including Cable Cars. BART is a seperate system though and isn't included in the transit pass. At the visitors center there are also planty of brochures and fliers about things to do in SF, so I would browse there a bit to see what catches your eye.

Whatever you do, you should definitely take a boat ride on the bay. You can go out to Angel Island, Sausalito, Alcatraz, or under the GG Bridge. There is the Red and White fleet and the Blue and Gold fleet, both dock close to Fisherman's Wharf.

A Cable Car ride is also a must do. Try earlier in the morning to avoid the long lines.

If you are up to it, you can rent a bike and ride across the GG Bridge to Sausalito and then take a ferry back to SF.

There are several walking tours you can take. Check out www.sfcityguides.org it's a non-profit group, and the tours are free. They ask for a donation at the end if you enjoyed the tour. $5 is a reasonable amount per person. If you take the Chinatown tour, they will give you a list of recommended restaurants in the neighborhood.

What kind of stuff are you interested in? That will help with the recommendations.

sory it took so long to get back on... I am love seeing cities from a local view. I want to see chinatown , noth beach, castro, and maybe nob hill..GG bridge too. The rock nah...

Sorry to confuse you.. I left on vacation 8th of August and returned 22nd. In which I only visited SF for 4 days and was in Tahoe the rest of those Days. I apologize for the confusion and taking my laptop helped.
