san diego with kids

I'm taking a trip to san diego with my 2 kids (7 and 9) and was wondering which hotel would be better for a nice family vacation, Pacific Terrace Inn or The Sea Lodge. Which beach would be better for the kids, La Jolla or Pacific Beach.

thanks!

I don't know the hotels you've mentioned. We've always stayed at the Bahai which is in Mission Bay. But I do know that Pacific Beach is more geared toward young adults and is a bit rowdy. The La Jolla Beachs are more kid friendly especially if you get to the cove. Also there is a nice aquarium you can visit in La Jolla. Stephen Birch Aquarium is smaller than Long Beach but still nice. Also Torry Pines park is a place to visit for hiking etc. Good luck and have fun.

do a search for those two names - there will be many reviews that come up.

La Jolla Shores (Sea Lodge)would be better for younger kids like yours.

You do not mention what time of year you are planning your trip, but we took our kids last march (ages 8 & 10). We stayed in Pacific Beach at the Ocean Park Inn, and did not find it to be rowdy at all. The beach was great and you could walk on the sea wall for a long ways. There were surfers to watch and people fishing off the pier, and lots of sand to play in. There were tons of shops in the area and we loved that it was only 5 minutes to Sea World.
The Pacific Terrace is a very pretty hotel, and was about 10-15 minutes walk down the beach from where we were.
