San Diego weather in Aug.-Sept.
 

Three different motivations come to mind. Sometimes you just need to get away and get a different perspective. Other times you crave the cultural and educational stimulation best found through travel. And still other times you travel for business (which helps accrue points/miles for more leisure travel- yeah!)

I am planning a vacation to San Diego in late Aug. or Sept. What is the temp.and overall weather like then. I heard you cannot swim even during those months. Is that true?

I live in San Diego. <BR> <BR>August and September are very similar. The average high is 78 and average low is 66. These temperatures are right on the coast. Just a few miles inland can be 10-15 degrees warmer in the day and 10 degrees cooler at night. Rain is very rare so don't even think about it. <BR> <BR>September is actually the hottest month of the year when there is usually a hot stretch of 100 or so. It can also be fairly himid in August. This seems to be more common in recent years. <BR> <BR>All in all the weather should be pretty decent. <BR> <BR>The ocean temperature rarely get above 71-72 and can even be in the high 60's in the summertime. Many people do swim in the ocean but it can be pretty chilly, especially if you are used to warm water such as Florida.
