Any recommendations?

I'm in PB so I don't want to travel <i>too</i> far afield.

I know of one on Fifth Ave up in Hillcrest, just south of University, but I don't know the address or even its name. As I recall, the selection was pretty good.

Other than that one, I don't know.... Hopefully the locals will speak up soon. Good luck!

There are a number of used-book stores out near the university. I can't remember the name of the street and the friend who knows is in Scandinavia at the moment, but I'll ask her when she returns. We had a great time in the bookstores a few years ago.

My (faded) memory says that Adams Avenue, in the area around I-805 has a number of pretty good ones. I used to search out used book stores wherever I traveled, but I do a lot more online now - www.abebooks.com has listings of stock from thousands of stores around the world.

There are a few places in Normal Heights around 32nd and Adams and a few in Hillcrest at 5th ave between Robinson and University.

If you're coming from PB, both would be easy to get to by car:

Hillcrest:
the 8 to the 163 S and exit university

Normal Heights: 8 to the 805 south and the Adams ave
