San Diego to LA - Short Trip
 

Our family of 6 - (4 children ages 11 to 16) are planning a short trip 5 days 4 nights flying in and out of San Diego. Our objective is to see all we can between San Diego and LA. Suggestions please....

Need help with suite hotel recommendations also.

your question is almost unanswerable with it's vagueness.
it only takes 2-3 hours to drive from san diego to la. do you want to see amusement parks? beaches? shopping? great hotels? what does suite hotel mean? how many beds do you need? how much do you want to spend? when are you travelling?

Not sure exactly what to see. We do love the beach and plan on the zoo..not sure what else there is that would interest children with ages 11 to 16. Also not sure if it is worth the drive to LA on such a short time frame..and if it is worth it what would be the one or two things to absolutely check out. Also accomodations for 6 people is not easy to find without getting 2 rooms. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Also any good places to eat at reasonable prices would be helpful.

travel time is from tuesday july 31 to august 4th. Trying to keep expenses reasonable for that area

Your questions make it sound like San Diego and LA are hundreds of miles apart. "not worth the drive to LA" - w/ five days?

OK - we can get you started in the right direction . . .

There are suite hotels everywhere in Southern CA. Are you interested in Disneyland/other theme parks? Shopping? Water sports? Museums? Do you want to stay all 5 days in SD, or maybe split it up w/ 2 or 3 days in SD and 2 or 3 days in LA/Orange county? You have mentioned the zoo and beach - are these the main reasons you chose SD in the first place?
