San Diego--timing?

My husband and I are planning a trip with our 2 yr. old daughter for March '09. Is this a busy time in SD? When do we need to book a hotel if we're hoping to stay somewhere on the beach?

Thank you! :)

It wouldn't be a particularly busy time unless there is a huge convention going on or it's Spring Break for kids.

It may not be very warm in March and it could rain-a lot. Also, the ocean ater will be cold-low 50s. Alternatively, we could get a few really hot days, but the water will still be very cold.

I don't really know when you'd have to book, sorry.

I didn't realize that it could be rainy. Unfortunately, we don't have much flexibility in terms of rescheduling vacation time. I'll have to think about this...we're still considering a few options in terms of destinations.

At least March won't be super busy. I guess that's the good news!

1.5 inches is a lot of rain? I guess it's all relative...

That's the average, it could be none or a lot more. Remember our average annual rainfall is less than 10 inches. It's just something to be aware of as a possibility.

March is beautiful in San Diego. Don't forget that this area is very popular for family spring break vacations from March to Easter, but you're planning far enough in advance to find something good.
