San Diego RNR Marathon
Anyone running the Suzuki Rock and Roll marathon? I'm flying over with the Team in Training and I don't know how to fill my time while I'm here for 3 days. It's on June 1.

Alohaaa olivia,
We'll be going down to my old stompin' grounds for Mrs Kal's 3rd TnT Marathon.
But I hear we're kind of 2 sticks in the mud and are pretty boring to hang with.
We're tacking on a few days after the run to be tourists and visit family.
Should be a good time.
TnT is a great organization and since the disease has struck home this year, all the more reason for her to run.
Mucho mahalos,
Kal

I ran the R&R marathon 2 years ago. It was a lot of fun, you'll enjoy it. As for things to do in San Diego, be sure to visit the Gaslamp area, La Jolla, Coronado and Old Town. Although it's touristy, my husband and I loved the Old Town Mexican Cafe. We ate there all the time when we lived in San Diego. Also enjoyed breakfast often at Harry's Coffee Shop in La Jolla...sit at the counter and watch the sassy waitresses do their thing. Here's a link to their website: http://www.homestead.com/harryslajolla/index.html. Good luck at the marathon and have fun in SD!

MelsHI,
hahahaha...The way she's been huffin' and puffin' when she comes in from her early morning runs she may just get a "slipper" tat vs another "running shoe"!
We saw the last Runner's Mag where they did an article on long runs on Oahu and we were thinking of you, you big marathon veteran!
Mucho mahalos!

Olivia, How'd you and your group do?
Just curious.
Mrs Kal, and both sisses in law finished with flying colors.
The weather could not have been any better or the people nicer.

Oh and BTW, I went back to the Finish Line to see if #3 sis in law had finished yet when I saw a hubby (saw a wed/ring) jump the fence at about 20yrds away from the Finish Line and run across the F/Line with his runner wife with a big sign that said "I'm with Stupendous!!" for thje F/Line photos.
Wish I would have thought about that.
Being the first time I've seen Mrs Kal do a marathon, I was misty eyed enuff seeing her chugging along up to the F/Line.
