San Diego: Point Loma>Ocean Beach
 

Will be in San Diego late March. Would like to go to Point Loma/Cabrillo Nat Monument. I have to go to a Farmers Market in CA and see there's one in Ocean Beach Wednesday afternoon. Saw an ad for Liberty Station Stone Brewing World Bistro and wondered how that would be to eat outside in the garden and combine the three places for a day or afternoon.

Any thoughts on that market and brewery? Looks as though parking may be difficult near market and DH can't walk too far. Any other suggestions of places to go in that area for the day?

Could also go to Coronado Market Tuesday afternoon if that would also be a good market. More interested in food products than clothes/jewelry.

Those two seem to be the only two that are open the days we'll be in other towns during our two week visit.

i think the ocean beach farmers market would be the one i'd choose. i just think the "vibe" of ocean beach and farmer's market go hand in hand. there is a lot of street parking in ocean beach or e-mail them https://oceanbeachsandiego.com/contact and ask them where parking lots are. you could check the entertainment schedule too.
i'd go out to pt loma / cabrillo, go to the brewery for about 2:00 and then onto the farmers market. or, do something else in the morning, got to cabrillo for around 2:00, farmers market the the restaurant for dinner.

pacific beach also has one on tuesday afternoons.

The Ocean Beach Farmers Market is a good one. Maybe you could drop off DH and you go park.

I'd go to Cabrillo in the morning. Maybe have lunch at Stone Brewery LS in Pt Loma and (yes it's usually nice to sit outside) then go to the Ocean Beach Farmer's Market in the afternoon since it starts at 4:00.

I wouldn't bother with the Coronado market. It's mostly flowers, fruit, and veg and has about 15 stands. Very small.

I agree with elizzie, the Coronado Market is very small and not worth the effort.

I like the La Jolla Farmer's Market which is very large and has a lot of certified organic produce. The Hillcrest Farmers Market is also great and has a very large selection.

I love the Stone Brewery Restaurant (so second elizzie's recommendation). Stone Beer is a craft beer that has had a lot of recognition in the beer industry. The restaurant is in Liberty Station (which is in Pt. Loma).

I also like Pt. Loma Seafood, which is very casual but has great seafood.

If you like burgers - check out Slaters 50-50 in Pt. Loma/Liberty Station. Also think Pt. Loma Seafood is hard to beat for fresh seafood - and go up to the second floor/patio - overlooking the sport fishing fleet/docks.

We'll be arriving on a Tuesday in Coronado for 3 nights so will probably check out the market there before heading to the Ocean Beach market on Wednesday.

Thanks for comments on restaurants in the OB area. Any suggestions for Coronado?

Last year we ended up eating at Brigantines for 3 nights just because it was close to our inn and great to eat outside. Really have to venture off to other places this year.

Clousie - There are a few new restaurants that I haven't tried. And a couple that have closed near the Ferry Landing.

I like Tent City which is on Orange Ave and Tenth.

There is a Burger Lounge on Orange between 8th and 9th Streets. This is very casual but popular. The burgers are great.

I also like Miguel's Mexican right next to Brigantine.
